Juliette Applewhite

Juliette grew up on the peninsula and started teaching swimming as a teenager. She swam for many years as a San Mateo Marlin and with the Golden Gate Aquatic Club before joining Menlo Masters. She has generously served the team with her volunteerism and has been awarded Swimmer of The Year.

After 20 years away from competition, Juliette began swimming in meets with Menlo, and her achievements include top ten age group finishes — she is a butterfly powerhouse! In addition to being our Swim Pro, Juliette is also one of our Menlo Mavericks coaches. Juliette is raising 4 daughters, now all teenagers, with her very patient husband.

Swim Pro: Juliette Applewhite
Menlo Swim and Sport offers the expertise of our Swim Pro, Juliette Applewhite for individual lessons. Juliette brings coaching talent and passion for swimming and people to her instruction so you can benefit from one-on-one lessons no matter what your skill level. Whether you're fearful of the water or on the verge of dominating at swim meets, Juliette can quickly help you make huge improvements.

If you're a beginner or recreational swimmer, Juliette will increase your efficiency in the water. You'll work on enjoying swimming and learning correct stroke mechanics so that you can grow stronger and more confident. If you're wanting to shave a few seconds off your 100 fly, Juliette will help you refine your stroke and perfect your form to give you that competitive edge.

During your lessons, Juliette spends time with you in the water and uses an underwater camera to capture your movements. The camera footage shows you exactly what you can improve, providing a visual imprint of your mechanics. Visual images are a great help when you're training your body to make the subtle adjustments that improve streamline, stroke efficiency, and power.
