Sally has been actively training and racing triathlons with Team Sheeper since 2002. She has raced every distance from sprint up to Ironman and beyond, preferring the longer distance endurance races.
A native of Great Britain, Sally has competed at the ITU Triathlon World Championships representing the British team and in 2008, she successfully completed the grueling "Race Across America," where, along with three teammates, she raced her bike non-stop 3,000 miles coast-to-coast in 8 days.
Prior to her triathlon career, Sally was a field hockey player at school and university back home, including a stint on the US East coast as a scholarship recruit from England. Post college, she played pro basketball in Europe for seven years for the London Jets and BV Lely (Amsterdam). A lifelong equestrian, Sally has competed in many English riding disciplines including dressage, eventing, and steeplechasing in England as a young adult.
Besides coaching Team Sheeper Junior Triathlon since 2007, Sally is active coaching basketball, cross country running, and the track team at Woodland School in Portola Valley.
Sally is married to Joel, a fellow Team Sheeper triathlete and her favorite training partner. She is the mother of two daughters, Samara and Maxelle, also budding triathletes. Her law degree and MBA led her to a career in software product marketing initially in Europe, followed by a move to Silicon Valley in 1992. She currently manages a family business in the energy space.
