Kelly Couch
Junior Triathlon Coach

Growing up in Colorado gave Kelly a deep appreciation of the outdoors and athletics. In high school and college, Kelly enjoyed a myriad of sports including lacrosse, swimming, running, skiing, and biking. When she moved to the Bay Area with her husband, she discovered triathlon and entered her first race in 2004. She was hooked. In 2006, Kelly became a professional triathlete and earned the award for the USAT Elite Rookie of the Year. Since then Kelly has competed in numerous triathlons alongside the best triathletes in the world.
For several years Kelly shared her passion for athletics with an equal interest in academics — she taught high school history for five years. After much deliberation, she decided to take a hiatus from teaching in 2008 to pursue her career as a full-time professional triathlete. Kelly is excited to share her love of multi-sport with the Junior Triathlon team. Coaching the Junior Triathlon team combines her two passions, athletics and teaching.
