Cherie Ahern

Aqua Fit Instructor

Cherie is excited to be teaching with Menlo Swim and Sport and is dedicated to bringing challenging and progressive water fitness classes for all ages and ability levels to the pool.

Cherie's passion for water fitness began in 1995 when she joined her first YMCA class as a participant. Bitten by the "water bug", Cherie went on to complete her United States Water Fitness Association certification in June 1997. Shortly thereafter, Cherie began teaching water fitness classes at the Peninsula Family YMCA in San Mateo. In 1998, Cherie also became a water fitness instructor at the Pacific Athletic Club in Redwood Shores.

In February 2003, Cherie completed the National Aquatic Fitness Certification awarded through the Exercise Science Alliance. In 2006, Cherie co-presented at the European Aquatic Fitness Convention in Karlsruhe, Germany with Charlotte Beyer-Olsen, originally from Norway who currently teaches at the Pacific Athletic Club and the Colony Club in Half Moon Bay. In September 2007, Cherie attended the Hydro-Fit Academy in Eugene, Oregon for education in shallow water exercise teaching methods and training techniques with specialized equipment.

Cherie has earned a reputation in the San Francisco Bay Area as an exceptional instructor. She maintains her passion by continuing to take classes and attend fitness seminars regularly to expand her knowledge and creativity.
