Post Summer Season Hours
Our Post Summer Season hours start on September 2 and go through September 28.
The start of school and September typically bring the hottest temperatures here on the peninsula so we endeavor to keep our pool available so we all can cool off.

Lap Swimming:
Monday – Thursday 6am - 8pm
Friday 6am – 7pm
Saturday and Sunday 10am – 6pm

The Baby Pool:
Monday through Sunday 10am – Noon and 2pm - 4pm

Open Swimming:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Noon – 8pm
Wednesday and Friday Noon – 7pm
Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm

Screen On The Green
Menlo Swim and Sport is happy to announce the return of movie night. We will be showing Charlotte's Web on Friday, September 5, 2008 after the sun sets (approximately 7:30pm). The movie is included in the admission to the pool. You can bring a picnic dinner or buy a slice of pizza for one dollar. There will also be free slices of watermelon while supplies last. We will be keeping the instructional pool open until the beginning of the movie. Show up early and secure your spot for a good view of the big screen.

Fall Mavericks
The Menlo Mavericks are excited and anxious to launch into the 2008 fall session. The Mavericks are coming off the biggest year in Menlo Park history with some of the best results and team participation ever, and are looking forward to harnessing that momentum and magic this fall session which began on August 25 and will go through October 30, 2008.

Coach Nancy Lewis is primed to shape and mold the Junior Mavericks into confident and competent swimmers, while coach Allen Varner is anxious to continue the fine tuning of swimming fundamentals.

We have lengthened the Junior Mavericks workout to 45 minutes. The workouts are now from 5:00 to 5:45pm Monday thru Thursday. The Mavericks work outs are one hour from 5:30 to 6:30pm. >more

Women's Water Polo
The Menlo Mavens water polo team will be hosting an open scrimmage on Friday, September 12, 2008 from 7:00 - 8:00pm. The scrimmage is open to adult men and women of all abilities. This will be an ongoing event on the second Friday of every month. >more

Swim Pro at Menlo
Swimming is a sport of finesse. Whether you are training for competition or just enjoy swimming laps, efficiency is the key to stroke refinement and increased speed. Working one-on-one with our SwimPro will enable you to have a clear assessment of your skills and will provide you with a framework for improvement. The SwimPro will meet with you to discuss your goals and objectives, observe your performance in the pool, and provide you with direct feedback as well as tips and techniques for continued improvement. Susie is available for lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with select hours. Swim School
The Fall session started on August 25 and will go through November 1, 2008. Registration is still open. Menlo Swim and Sport offers swimming lessons year round. Menlo Swim School provides professional, goal-oriented swim lessons for all ages and levels, developing life-long competency and a life-long love of swimming. You can register for Group, Semi-Private and Private swimming lessons during the Fall Session. Registration is on-line. Homemade Granola Recipe
Here is a quick and easy recipe for that quick boost of energy before or after a vigorous swim workout. These energy bars are a tasty and healthy snack to pack in your childs back to school lunches as well. Ingredients:

2 c. uncooked Quaker Multi-Grain cereal
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. snipped (1/2-inch pieces) pitted prunes
1/2c. coarsely chopped (unblanched) almonds
1/4cup unsalted sunflower seeds
3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. brown sugar
large egg
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine the cereal, raisins, prunes, almonds, sunflower seeds, flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt.
In another bowl, whisk the vegetable oil, brown sugar and egg until blended. Stir in the applesauce and vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients, stirring just until blended.
Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool until lukewarm on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
The recipe makes about 24 bars.

Pool Parties
You can sign up to have your party at the Burgess Park pools during regular business hour. The cost is $100 for two hours; the cost includes two picnic tables on the lawn under the tress, admission up to twelve kids and four adults, with the option to pay for additional attendees. Check with the front desk staff for further details. >more
