Aqua Fit Summer Nights
In the effort to continue delivering a high level of Aqua Fit programming, we are moving the Tuesday and Thursday evening class to 7 -8pm for the summer. With this move we will be able to keep the class in the Instructional Pool where the participants will experience more space, less distraction and access to deep and shallow water.
At the end of the summer session we will move the start time back to 6pm.
We feel this will improve the quality of your classes due to the fact that you will have more space move around and have the option of both deep and shallow water.

Summer Skin Care
Sunscreen! To avoid sunburns while swimming, wear sunscreen! Apply waterproof sunscreen 20-30 minutes prior to entering the pool. Try to swim early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the greatest potential of over sun exposure between 11am to 4pm. Make sure to reapply your waterproof sunscreen every 90 minutes after being in the water. Protect your scalp from the sun, be sure to wear a swim cap.
Parents, please remember with the summer approaching there is no healthy sun tan.
In a recent press release, a professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the Stanford University School of Medicine, offered information and advice to help protect people of all ages from sun damage:
The doctor said, a tan that forms on the body is due to ultraviolet radiation damage to the skin. According to the doctor, the damage accumulates in the body from childhood through adolescence and adulthood and may lead to skin cancer. The doctor recommends:
- Wear clothing with high SPF. Do not forget to put sunscreen on all exposed skin.
- Since sunscreen is not recommended for infants younger than six months, dress your children in long sleeves, long pants and a hat.
- Always use a waterproof sunscreen with at least a 30 SPF (sun protection factor). The higher SPF the better, for protection from ultraviolet damage and skin cancer.
- There are several types of sunscreen, sticks, lotions and sprays. According to the professionals, all are equally as good. Just use them!
