Summer Office Hours

Menlo Swim and Sport has office hours when you’ll find someone at the check-in desk. Please call or visit for business reasons during these hours:

Monday–Thursday  6:00am – 8:00pm
Friday                    6:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday–Sunday  10:00am – 6:00pm

2008 OPEN HOUSE! Saturday, April 26

Find out about all our 2008 programs and spend a FREE day at the pool. We're opening the pool for the day so that the community can meet our instructors and coaches, see lesson and class demonstrations, and sign up for programs on site. Open Swim and Lap Swimming is free for normal Sunday hours.

Bring a picnic lunch or buy famous Edna's cookies at the cookie booth. Snacks and drinks will also be for sale at the pro shop. Get your questions answered, find out about summer schedules, and experience the great pool facilities at Burgess Park.

Summer Survey Results and City Report

Thank you to everyone who filled out our summer survey. View complete results here. We submitted our summer statistics for visitors, programs, hours and staffing to the City of Menlo Park and they put together a report presented to the City Council on September 26, 2006. Read about the numbers such as, during the 14 week summer 40,255 people participated in our programs.  Download the report (PDF).

Local Urban Search and Rescue Team Puts a Boat in at The Burgess Pool

Few know that Menlo Park has its own CA-TF3 team, one of twenty-eight task forces in the US that respond to disasters world-wide. At the pool, the team was holding a class that provides an introduction to water rescue safety techniques for CA-TF3 members and extra training for Menlo Park Fire District firefighters. Sequoia Healthcare District Places First Automated External Defibrillator at Burgess Park Pools
Press Release: 09/05/06

Sequoia Healthcare District placed its first automated external defibrillator (AED) unit at the new pools at Burgess Park, which are operated by Menlo Swim and Sport. This is the first placement for the District’s HeartSafe program, which is designed to dramatically increase the survival rate for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Download full story (PDF).

Demand for Aqua Fit growing

By popular demand, our Aqua Fit program has expanded. We have five weekday classes, Monday through Friday starting at 8:00 am. Aqua Fit incorporates deep-water jogging and exercises to challenge and strengthen the entire body. Aqua Fit  increasing aerobic fitness and muscle tone while having fun in the water. Aqua Fit also offers gentle exercise without any strain to weight-bearing joints, perfect for rehab and stress reduction.

Friday Movie Nights: Success!

Our version of dinner and a movie turned out to be a great success, with swimming at dusk combined with a movie on the hill under the oak trees. We had pizza and drinks, bring-your-own dinners and snacks. Our sleeping bags came in handy on the cooler nights, but overall we found that Movie Night was a great addition to the new programs at the pool. Look for Movie Nights and more family entertainment events next summer. Have a suggestion? Let us know!

Women's Water Polo

Master's Water Polo now offers fundamental skills practices and scrimmage sessions for women. All workouts are open to all levels, beginners and advanced players welcomed. Practice is on Monday and Wednesday evening starting at 6:30 and on Sunday morning starting at 8:00am. Give polo a try!

We thank all of you for your patronage during our first weeks of operation and for your feedback. You have made great suggestions and we appreciate your help in creating the best schedule for all the groups who want to use the pool. It has been challenging and enlightening! So thank you again and note that we will continue to listen and adjust the schedule to meet your needs. Check the Calendar for new hours.
