The Swim School hires instructors year-round so send your resume or questions about jobs now. Our guard and front desk staff is smaller in the winter, but plan ahead for our spring and summer hiring spree. Head Lifeguards

Experienced guards, with at least 2 years experience, capable of managing staff guards. Need to have excellent decision-making skills. Must be 18 years old or older and be able to work weekends and/or evenings. Current Lifeguard, WSI, CPR, and first aid certifications required. Pay rate is between $13.00 and $17.00/hour, depending on experience.

Staff Lifeguards

Flexible hours — early morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available. Newly certified guards welcomed. If you are not yet certified, we offer a WSI certification course. See the Water Safety Classes page for details. Pay rate is between $10.00 and $15.00/hour, depending on experience.

Front Desk Staff

Friendly, enthusiastic, customer-service-oriented persons to manage check-in desk. Flexible full-time or part-time regular schedules available.  Great position for students or retirees.

Swim School Openings

The Swim School at Menlo Swim and Sport needs instructors, deck managers, and administrative staff. The swim school runs group lessons from Waterbabies classes to Pre-Competitive practices. Ideal candidates will go through a training course to learn the philosophy of the swim school including teaching methods and structure of the classes and levels. We want to build a team environment for our staff where everyone supports each other and works toward one goal—providing excellent customer service and exceptional swim training!

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • A gift and love of working with children
  • Responsibility, dedication and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Desire to go above and beyond the average
  • Ability to work part-time (possibility of more time available by taking over shifts as needed)
  • Teaching experience or relevant water experience
  • Desire to help a program grow from its infancy while helping to establish a fun team-like atmosphere among its staff and clients
